Beach and Camping Essentials, Five Minutes from the Water

Ice, produce, groceries, wiper blades and lotto. The stuff you actually need on an Okanagan day out, in one stop.

There’s a particular Okanagan moment: you’re loaded up, twenty minutes from home, and you realise the cooler has no ice in it.

We’re a general store in the old sense — the place that has the thing you forgot.

Ice, first and foremost

Bagged ice is the single most-forgotten item of any lake day. We keep it stocked for coolers, camping, and keeping your catch cold on the way home.

Food for the day

  • Fresh produce — we’re in the heart of orchard country and stock fruit and vegetables regularly
  • Grocery — dairy, dry goods, and the everyday essentials
  • Confectionary — snacks for the drive, the boat, or the trail

Buying fruit here in the middle of summer is one of the genuine perks of the location. It doesn’t travel far to reach us.

Cool down afterward

  • Soft swirl ice cream in chocolate, vanilla, or swirl
  • Slush Screamers from the carbonated slush machine

Both are exactly right after a hot ride on the Rail Trail or an afternoon on the water.

The practical stuff

We stock hardware basics — wiper blades, oil, and various tools — so a small problem doesn’t end your day. It’s not a hardware store, but it’s enough to get you home.

There’s also lotto in store, because somebody has to win.

Gifts on the way out

We carry local artisan wares — gifts and souvenirs from Okanagan makers. If you’re visiting and want to take something home that isn’t from an airport, this is a better option.

Where we are

On Oyama Road, off Highway 97 and adjacent to Pelmewash Parkway, near Gatzke Orchard — on the isthmus between Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake, right on the Okanagan Rail Trail.

Family-run since 2003. If you’re not sure whether we’ve got something, call 250-548-3400 and ask.
