E-Bike Rentals in Lake Country: Everything You Need to Know

If you’ve been curious about trying an e-bike on the Okanagan Rail Trail, this is the practical version: where we are, when we’re open, and what you need to bring.
Where the shop is
The E-Bike & Board shop is directly across from the Oyama General Store on the Oyama Isthmus — the narrow strip of land between Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake. It sits right on the Okanagan Rail Trail, so you’re on the trail within seconds of picking up your bike, and you’re steps from both lakes.
That location is the whole appeal. There’s no driving to a trailhead and no hauling bikes on a rack. You park once, pick up, and ride.
Hours
The shop is open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 7 days a week, including statutory holidays. That last part matters more than people expect — long weekends are exactly when you want to be out on the trail, and we’re open.
Book ahead
We strongly recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance. We have a limited number of bikes, and summer weekends go quickly. A day’s notice is usually enough to get the rental you actually want rather than whatever’s left.
If you’re planning a group ride, give us as much notice as you can.
What’s required
All rentals need a signed rental agreement and liability waiver. This applies to both e-bikes and paddleboards. It’s quick to complete, and doing it before you arrive means you spend your time riding instead of filling out paperwork at the counter.
Why an e-bike on this trail
The Rail Trail follows an old rail bed, so the grade is gentle almost the whole way. An e-bike turns that into something you can genuinely enjoy for hours — you can ride further along Wood Lake or up toward Kalamalka without deciding in advance how fit you’re feeling that day.
It’s also what makes riding together realistic for groups with mixed experience. Nobody gets dropped, and nobody has to wait.
Before you head out
The store is right there, so grab water before you go — the exposed sections get hot in July and August. And when you get back, the soft swirl ice cream and the slush machine are about twenty steps from where you return the bike.
